get involved VI coLABORATORY of future

International symposium on the mediation of architecture and building culture for young people
from 20 to 21 October 2023
In the framework of the 18th International Architecture Exhibition Biennale Architettura 2023.

coLABORATORY OF FUTURE
Climate / Engagement / Change

For the sixth time in a row, get involved VI offers an international platform for the mediation of building culture for young people in the context of the Venice Architecture Biennale, where current topics relevant to building culture and development potentials are discussed and worked on in theoretical and practical exchange.

coLABORATORY OF FUTURE is specifically dedicated to current topics that are changing our environment more than ever and demand the highest degree of sustainable design possibilities.

The two-day symposium will address the topics of climate, engagement and change. In addition to lectures and discussions, workshops in the form of a collaborative laboratory are an important mediation format that creates experimental fields and experiential spaces for participation and co-design.

The environmental crisis and a structural change in society require a high degree of willingness to recognize and take new constructive paths in a rapidly changing living environment. coLABORATORY OF FUTURE focuses on international exchange on these topics, provides insight into contemporary mediation methods, and motivates cross-regional collaboration to develop positive perspectives for shaping our built future and share them with young people.

get involved VI addresses the professions of architecture, structural design, spatial planning, cultural mediation, landscape planning, pedagogy, youth work, research and science, and policy makers related to building culture education.

we collaborate
the symposium get involved VI will for the first time integrate partners of our existing network in the German-speaking area in the conception and realization and create a constructive basis for a sustainable exchange of specific experiences and developments in the field of building culture education for young people.
Our international building culture – network – project partners are:

Architektur und Schule Bayern e.V., Regensburg, Munich (Germany)

und
Archijeunes Baukulturelle Bildung für Kinder und Jugendliche, Basel (Switzerland)

In cooperation with our partners, we will focus on three main topics that currently challenge everyday mediation with young people.
