About Us

The Verein Initiative Baukulturvermittlung (Built Environment Education Association) is an cooperation of Austrian initiatives and projects whose objective is to bring the culture of architecture, planning, structural engineering, and construction to children and youth.

Founded in 2010, the Verein Initiative Baukulturvermittlung grew out a network of local initiatives underway in the provinces that formed in the spring of 2008. The strengthened cooperation among individual participants who share the same goals fostered a greater awareness of the importance of providing architectural education for children and youth, as well as the need for an extensive platform for school and extra-curricular activities. The association’s network partners are themselves associations or offices and individuals who promote contemporary architecture, or represent a local professional society or university, or are educators.
